Information Technology and E-Commerce

The Information Technology and E-Commerce Attorneys at ULC helps clients navigate through the complex issues that often arise when developing, licensing or acquiring information technology. In today’s economy, such technology drives almost every company’s operations and growth. We handle all aspects of information technology and e-commerce transactions ranging from small, one-time license agreements to technology joint ventures to multi-party global outsourcing deals.

The legal and regulatory framework for the telecoms market within Pakistan continues to evolve. ULC has significant expertise in IT and telecoms laws and regulations. We have represented clients before the Department of Telecommunications. ULC has experience in drafting interconnect agreements, conditional access systems agreements, and national and international long distance contracts.

Our multifaceted approach to technical, business and legal issues allows us to be a value-add to any transaction on which we work. Our client base comprises both the providers and users of information technology. On the provider side, we represent software developers, outsourcers, content providers, domain name registries and registrars, infrastructure and network providers, and application service providers. On the user side, we represent companies that use technology in a wide variety of industries, including financial services, transportation, manufacturing, publishing, entertainment and retail. Because of this diverse client base, we view the industry from varied perspectives, and thereby help our clients understand the strategic interests of the other side during negotiations.
